The Position
In the area of Research & Development at Roche Diagnostics, you actively shape the development of groundbreaking technologies. As a Development Engineer Mikrosystemtechnik (w/m/d), you bring your expertise in the development of microfluidic systems and contribute significantly to bringing new diagnostic test carriers and materials to the market.
You work independently on challenging development projects, interpret test results, manage external partners, and actively shape the interface between design, test development, and manufacturing with your know-how.
Central tasks in this role:
- Independent planning and execution of feasibility studies and development tasks for the further development of test carrier formats and materials – with a focus on technical feasibility, efficiency, and quality.
- Development of designs and components for test systems using CAD as well as accompanying the implementation in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, work, and test instructions; as well as active participation in the standardization of manufacturing processes.
- Systematic analysis of test results using mathematical and statistical methods as well as deriving substantiated action recommendations for further development.
- Support of project management through coordination of defined activities, taking over responsibility for sub-projects, and professional training of new team members.
- Organization of laboratory operations including responsibility for defined equipment as well as ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
What you bring with you:
- A completed master’s degree in engineering sciences, microsystem technology or a related field.
- Professional experience in the development of microfluidic systems or materials in the diagnostic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of microfluidics, physical process management, CAD-based design, ideally supplemented by experience in CFD simulation.
- Knowledge of immunoassays is advantageous.
- You work independently and structured, take responsibility and actively participate in interdisciplinary teams.
- Very good German language skills, good English language skills as well as secure communication with internal and external partners.
