To supervise Maintenance, Grounds, and Operations activities, including assigning, supervising, and participating in the work of grounds maintenance, building maintenance and custodial services; to coordinate assigned activities with each school site and the District Office.
Under the general direction of the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation (or the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services), the Supervisor of Maintenance, Operations, and Grounds plans, organizes, coordinates, schedules, supervises, and evaluates the maintenance, repair, custodial, and groundskeeping operations of the District. This position is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective services across all district facilities and grounds. Duties include managing work orders and deferred maintenance programs; overseeing multiple trades (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, locksmith, roofing, welding & sheet metal, floor covering, and masonry); ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and maintaining rigorous standards of quality, safety, and accountability.
This position carries significant responsibility for safeguarding District assets, coordinating emergency response, and providing leadership and technical expertise to a diverse workforce.
Receives general direction from the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation or Assistant Superintendent of Business Services.
Exercises direct supervision over maintenance, custodial, and grounds staff; may oversee contracted services and substitute personnel.
This is a single-incumbent exempt supervisory classification with District-wide responsibility for all building, equipment, custodial, and grounds maintenance work. The incumbent is expected to work independently and exercise considerable judgment in planning, organizing, and directing activities in a complex public school district setting.
