About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Fiber Network Operations to lead the strategic development, execution, and optimization of our fiber-optic infrastructure across customer, enterprise, and regional markets. This executive-level role is responsible for driving operational excellence, innovation, and long-term scalability in fiber network services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical foundation, proven leadership in multi-state operations, and the ability to influence cross-functional initiatives that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for the planning, deployment, and lifecycle management of fiber-optic networks across diverse geographies.
• Lead and develop a high-performing organization of regional managers, field supervisors, technicians, and support teams.
• Oversee network performance analytics, incident response, and proactive infrastructure optimization.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align network operations with corporate goals, capital planning, and technology roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, service quality, and operational efficiency.
• Manage multimillion-dollar budgets, vendor contracts, and resource allocation across concurrent projects.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal safety and quality standards.
• Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, automation tools, and process enhancements.
• Represent the organization in strategic partnerships, regulatory discussions, and industry forums.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of progressive experience in fiber-optic network operations, including large-scale deployment and maintenance.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing multi-regional technical teams and complex infrastructure programs.
• Expertise in fiber technologies, network architecture, and performance management platforms.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications such as CFOS/D (Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Design), CFOT, or relevant credentials from NCTI, SCTE.
• Proficiency in GIS mapping tools, CMMS platforms, and network design software.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including OSHA, FCC, NEC, and local permitting processes.
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives or implementing automation in network operations.
• Strong track record of building scalable teams, operational standards, and performance metrics.
