Key Responsibilities

Role Overview

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience across all stages of the design process. From your first day, you will be encouraged to learn, contribute, and develop the skills needed to become a well-rounded professional engineer. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of projects through all design stages.
  • Assisting with calculations, sketches, diagrams, and working drawings for electrical building services.
  • Preparing specifications and equipment schedules under supervision.
  • Helping to gather and analyse technical data to inform project decisions.
  • Using digital tools such as BIM modelling, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Attending design workshops with architects, surveyors, and engineers.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Visiting sites during construction phases to see projects come to life.
  • Contributing to project proposals and wider team initiatives.

Throughout your role, you will be supported by a dedicated supervisor and mentor. You will also have access to structured training and regular feedback to help you grow your confidence, technical skills, and professional judgement.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.

Behaviours

  • An interest in electrical building services and sustainable design.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (REVIT, AutoCAD, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable, and resilient attitude.
