Sales Manager

Ribbon is looking for a Sales Manager to manage complex sales processes for the entire portfolio to increase company sales to new and existing customers and partners in all relevant segments (Service Providers, large Enterprises), with a strong focus on new business development. The role is based in Germany, preferably in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main area.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Penetrate and develop new business in the region
  • Develop a strategy around sweet spots
  • Build effective relationships with existing and prospective accounts and sell at all levels within the customer organization
  • Prepare proposals to meet client needs and requirements, including all technical details, with the support of Sales Engineers and other teams inside the organization
  • Conduct commercial negotiations with clients up to contract signing, whilst maintaining deal profitability
  • Lead process from identifying an opportunity to a qualified lead and execution, working with and supporting CRM tools
  • Strong teamwork skills: involving the product house in HQ, leading Sales Engineers, involve and transfer successful projects to post sales organization - keeping responsibility

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in the Telecommunications Industry, provable success in selling to SP and/or enterprises in the region
  • Ability to articulate value propositions and perform benefits-selling up to C-level decision makers
  • Existing relationship with customers and partners in the named market segments
  • Good understanding of the Telecommunications market and products: DWDM / Ethernet / IP knowledge
  • Voice service-related solutions and applications: good knowledge is an advantage
  • Ability to create accurate sales forecasts and budgets
  • Personal Attributes and Key Competencies:
    • Fluent English & German – must
    • High self-motivation to achieve goals without supervision
    • Good presentation and written communication skills
    • High level of inter-personal skill in developing relationships with customers
    • Hungry for success
    • Most importantly: positive thinking, being a team player
  • Education:
    • Either a commercial career path (study or education in business management) or Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or a related field
