Automation Engineer

Designs, develops, integrates, installs, validates, and releases automated systems and machinery. Contributes directly to automation project development, experimental design, validation of electromechanical applications, virtual simulations (mechanical, electrical, software), machining, and testing with robots, pneumatic and vacuum systems. Actively participates in project discussion forums with sister Resideo plants and collaborates in the implementation and sustainment of both existing and new automated equipment.

Job Duties:

• Participate directly in the design and development of automation projects for Resideo plants in Mexico.
• Modify automated equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Support lab testing to validate the effectiveness of electromechanical system applications.
• Document, share, and train others on new automation engineering and integration devices.
• Capture and share lessons learned from ongoing development processes.
• Generate and publish relevant automation project reports for management.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance using preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Work with design and manufacturing engineering to define design criteria for new equipment.
• Ensure all automated equipment complies with company safety and performance standards.
• Maintain historical records of automated equipment performance and modifications.

You Must Have:

• 5+ years of experience working in industrial automation or related engineering fields.
• Proven expertise in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, latest version), LabVIEW, and electrical control design including protection coordination.
• Proficiency in SQL and Visual Basic for database development and automation integration.
• Knowledge in designing pneumatic and vacuum systems, as well as ergonomic guarding and resting stations.
• Conversational fluency in English (bilingual proficiency required).
