About the Team

The Financial Markets Group (FMG) is responsible for implementing the Reserve Bank's operations in domestic and international financial markets. It plays a key role in executing monetary policy, managing foreign exchange reserves, and maintaining relationships with global institutions. The core functions of FMG are:

  • Domestic Markets: Executes monetary policy and manages liquidity in the Australian financial system.
  • International Department: Oversees foreign exchange operations, manages international reserves, and fosters global financial relationships.
  • Financial Markets Business Support Services (FMBSS): Provides the critical operational support to FMG, delivering technology, data, and change management support.

We're seeking a Senior Manager to join the Financial Markets Business Support Services (FMBSS) team which is responsible for providing essential operational support, change delivery, data governance and delivery across financial markets, domestic and international businesses and partner departments. You'll work closely with senior leaders across the Bank to drive strategic outcomes, foster a values-aligned culture, and ensure high levels of performance and engagement.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team reporting to the Deputy Head of Financial Markets Business Support Services (FMBSS). It is a unique opportunity to help shape culture, drive performance and influence decisions that support the Bank's mandate to achieve financial stability.

Further, you will:

  • Lead and develop teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services aligned with the Bank's strategic goals
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence
  • Manage budgets, people and processes with a strong focus on compliance and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities and service enhancements

About You

To see success, you will be an experienced leader who has a track-record in developing engaged and efficient teams through maximising collaboration to achieve positive outcomes while fostering an inclusive environment to ensure you get the best out of your people. This is addition to your ability to identify process improvements that ensure optimal performance to support enterprise objectives.

We would like to speak with candidates who have:

  • Proven experience leading and motivating teams in a complex service delivery environment
  • Strong understanding of customer service, quality outputs and cost efficiency
  • Skilled in managing risks, service level agreements and performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to influence policy, coach managers and support holistic wellbeing
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
