2nd Shift Supervisor For Shuttle Bus Drivers

Republic Airways is recruiting a 2nd Shift Supervisor for Shuttle Bus Drivers who is positive, dependable, and focused on maintaining the safety of our guests and associates as they hold the responsibility of fulfilling all campus transportation needs, including the 105,000 square foot trainer center, corporate headquarters, adjacent hotels, and new parking garage at our Corporate Headquarters soon to be in Carmel, Indiana. The Supervisor of Shuttle Bus Driver's schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday (1:30p-10:00p) and duties include all regularly scheduled duties listed below including additional duties to help with the seamless operation of the transportation department as the Operations manager deems necessary.

Responsibilities

At Republic Airways, you will be responsible for operating our Shuttle Buses on campus, providing transportation to and from off-site parking and between campus and off campus and off campus sites.

This includes and is not limited to:

  • Maintaining the job they are currently assigned
  • Establishes and maintains clear communications with other bus operators and management team to ensure a consistent, superior level of customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate with the Supervisor- Shuttle Bus Dispatch on scheduling drivers and maintaining proper coverage of all routes. You will help with time off requests.
  • Coordinate with the Supervisor- Shuttle Bus Dispatch to ensure that there is around the clock coverage of phone calls, all emails, and text messages to ensure the seamless operation of the department.
  • Fill in as acting Operations Manager as needed.
  • Help oversee vehicle maintenance as well as the coordination of getting vehicles to and from maintenance locations.
  • Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, Drug & Alcohol policies other guidelines as required.
  • Oversee accident response procedures as necessary.
  • Remain easy-going and professional.
  • Drive a passenger van/shuttle and any other company passenger vehicles safely, efficiently, and courteously on all public highways and private property as directed, through all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Treat all passengers, company personnel, and other individuals associated with assigned work in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Assist in loading and unloading passengers and have the ability to load and unload baggage by hand with a weight of up to 75lbs.
  • Greeting all Team Members with appropriate greeting ("Good Morning", "Good Afternoon, "Good Evening").
  • Screen passengers discreetly for special accommodations and provides appropriate information and or assistance.
  • Cleans bus and bus stops, inspects bus for service issues, monitors stops and bus equipment throughout the day and reports any issues to the appropriate contact daily.
  • Maintains accurate passenger counts as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and neat manner.
  • Perform daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspection to ensure vehicle compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Commercial Driver's License (Indiana), Class A or B with a Passenger and Air Brake endorsement and three (3) years of driving experience is required.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to licensed driving requirements
  • Be in good standing with Republic Airways
  • Ability to communicate both verbal and written information to guests and Dispatch Operators
  • Proven record of following state and federal motor vehicle regulations
  • Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards and Regulations
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.
  • Must possess valid DOT medical card.

Certifications

Will be required to undergo Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and random drug testing

Preferred Experience

2 years' experience driving passengers

Language Skills

Physical Demands

Able to lift up to 25 pounds up to 35% of the time.

Work Environment

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced and noisy environment while exercising sound judgement at all times.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
