Pest Control Technician

About the role:
You'll play a key role in protecting customer sites by diagnosing pest problems, implementing effective control solutions, and ensuring ongoing prevention. Success in this role comes from a strong customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing environments while maintaining excellent service standards.
You'll work Monday to Friday across the Canterbury region, with flexibility required for overnight travel and early or late shifts when the job calls for it.

Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload the service vehicle effectively to complete daily assignments.
- Conduct inspections of customer premises to identify signs of pest infestations.
- Implement effective pest control measures and advise customers on prevention techniques.
- Address hygiene risks and client concerns to enhance work environments.
- Complete service reports to document services performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanour at all times.
- Stay aware of client needs and identify opportunities to improve service standards.
Requirements:
- Eligible to work full-time in New Zealand with a clean criminal record.
- Full NZ driver's license (manual preferred) and clean driving history.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Physically fit, comfortable on ladders, and able to work outdoors in all conditions.
- Adheres to health and safety standards; works independently and manages time well.
- Willing to drive long distances and stay away from home if needed.
- Detail-oriented with confidence using mobile service apps and devices.
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):
- Knowledge of pest control methods and regulations.
- Working at Heights and EWP licences and experience.
- Firearm handling skills and a licence
Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
