Lead Technician

Summary
The Lead Technician will lead a team of Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components.
Requirements
The Lead Technician will:
- Mentor and set a positive example for junior technicians.
- Collaborate with senior line managers for plant maintenance.
- Troubleshoot low voltage DC power systems.
- Troubleshoot low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
- Identify faulty or underperforming equipment.
- Utilize hand tools effectively and appropriately.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Assist in development of site operating plans.
- Follow site safety plan and safe work practices.
- Adhere to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
- Interface with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
- Interface with project subcontractors.
- Represent RES in a professional manner to project stakeholders.
- Respond to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.
- Operate RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
- Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Comply with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
- Preset, support, and lead by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Safety
The Lead Technician will:
- Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action.
- Ensure that safety is the most important function, follow safe practices while working.
- Reinforce safe behaviors and eliminate "at risk" behaviors.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions and use materials and equipment properly.
- Ensure Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before scopes of work commence.
- Adhere to and understand standard operating procedures.
- Receive job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Leadership
The Lead Technician will:

Qualifications
- High school/GED General Education required.
- Associates Degree related Technical Degree preferred.
- Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
- Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.
- 5+ years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.
- 3+ years or more Medium voltage electrical work experience required.
- 2+ years or more High voltage electrical work experience preferred.
- 2+ years managing or leading field technicians.
- Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
- Intermediate:
- High voltage electrical power systems.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Advanced:
- Low, medium, high voltage electrical power systems, drawings and circuit theory.
- OSHA regulations.
- Hand tools.
- Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation.
- Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera).
- ANSI/NETA/MTS.
- SCADA systems.
- Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 minutes from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
- Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
- Domestic travel 5-15% required.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Anticipated Base Salary Range
$37.20 - $46.50
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
