Underwriting Support Coordinator – Property Cat
The Underwriting Support Coordinator – Property Cat will assist the Property Cat underwriting team by coordinating and liaising with Operations, RenRe Client Analytics (RRCA), Claims, and Capital Partners, focusing on the principal accountabilities listed below. The primary goal of this role is to enhance processes and increase efficiencies between the underwriting team and these integrated functions.
Principal Accountabilities:
Underwriting Workflow
- Will be cc'd on all communications between underwriters and brokers, and manage the filing of appropriate communications (e.g., quotes, firm order terms, authorizations, signed lines, internal deal notes).
- Submit submissions to operations and RRCA, including relevant basic ID and underwriter name.
- Ensure meeting booklets are properly filed in REMS.
- Liaise with underwriters to ensure timely return of all contracts.
- Serve as the main point of contact for operations when additional information is needed to book a deal.
RenRe Client Analytics (RRCA)
- Act as the primary contact for RRCA regarding any deal modelling requests for underwriters.
- Assist in coordinating deal modelling priorities for RRCA and provide feedback during weekly meetings.
- Collaborate with RRCA on ad-hoc requests from clients and brokers.
- Maintain an up-to-date client and broker mailing list for distribution of white papers or forecasts.
Other Responsibilities
- Share claims updates with the claims team and coordinate with underwriter that loss estimates are applied to all impacted reinsurance structures.
- Collaborate with Executive Assistants and Underwriters on ad-hoc client events.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and their support teams to enhance service standards.
Experience/Skills:
- A university degree preferred, (emphasis on business, insurance or finance / accounting is advantageous) or comparable experience essential.
- At least 2 to 5 years in relevant experience in area of responsibility preferred.
- Good knowledge of general insurance business or reinsurance.
- Prioritizes responsibilities, makes effective use of time and remains flexible to changing work needs/demands.
- Utilizes available resources to accomplish objectives and identifies issues that could potentially derail results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clearly and concisely presents information in group settings, adapting messages to the needs of the audience and effectively responds to Q&A.
- Regularly shares information and engages in dialogue with manager and peers.
- Works toward team goals and end result and contributes in ways that benefit the entire team.

- Strong computer skills – MS Word, Excel and any relevant internal systems.
