Sr Electrical Engineer

Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for a candidate with a broad experience in electrical design and management including: design and equipment upgrades, power system studies including arc flash hazards analysis, low and medium voltage power distribution system design in an industrial setting, equipment design and selection including motor control centers, drives, switchgear, panelboards, substation transformers, and related equipment, drawing creation including power plans and layouts, one-lines, wiring diagrams, for plant power. The candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities, which include mentoring junior and midlevel electrical and Instrumentation and Control (IandC) staff, interact with clients, manage electrical and IandC related projects, and participate in new business development. In this role, your design delivery responsibilities will include power system modeling, conceptual design development, layout and selection of equipment, development of contract drawings using 2D and 3D design approaches, bid package preparation, field investigations, electrical and IandC design, and support during construction both in the office and the field. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for building things, meeting new people, and desire to work with professionals who perform industrial and municipal electrical, and other water/wastewater work. In-person or hybrid (2-3 days in office/week) work arrangements from one of our offices in the Western U.S. (Seattle, Portland, Boise, Denver, Salt Lake City or Dallas) is preferred. If fully remote, candidates will be expected to travel to offices/client worksites as required. Primary responsibilities include:

• Serve as a project task manager, or perform as lead discipline (electrical and IandC) engineer on projects as appropriate.
• Scope and budget projects, identify method of project execution, and coordinate staff assignments.
• Successfully manage and execute electrical designs to be on time and on budget using company systems and tools.
• Support business opportunities and assist in sales and marketing efforts (proposal preparation, interviewing, scope, fee, etc.).
• Mentor other electrical and IandC engineers and designers.
• Perform contractor construction submittal reviews and request for information documents and general electrical design activities for water and wastewater treatment plant and pump station power systems.
• Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
• Collaborate with a national team of technical experts in the Electrical and IandC group.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional registration or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 10 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer working for government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater industries.
• Ability to work with Designers in Revit/BIM environment along with AutoCAD PandID.
• Power system software design/modelling experience (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
• Experience in industrial power systems design (medium and low voltage systems), service entrance, feeder and branch circuits, lighting, emergency power and power generation and distribution equipment.
