Senior Linux Systems Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, and support mission-critical infrastructure across Azure and on-prem environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on with traffic management (F5 BIG-IP and HAProxy), brings strong networking troubleshooting skills, and writes reliable tooling in C and Python to automate operations, performance tuning, and observability. This role is critical to the enterprise migration initiative, moving workloads from legacy mainframe and on-prem environments to Azure Cloud. Primary activities will focus on ensuring stability, security, and performance during this transition.

Skills and Requirements:

• 10+ years in Linux Systems Engineering, in production environments (live systems & continuous observability).
• Experience designing, building, and supporting mission-critical infrastructure across Azure and on-prem environments.
• Experience building and supporting Azure infrastructure (compute, networking, storage).
• Experience designing, hardening (SELinux) and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/Ubuntu systems.
• Experience writing C and Python for systems tooling, performance, or networking use cases.
• Experience designing, deploying, and tuning F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM, iRules) and HAProxy.
• Experience with networking fundamentals and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, SSL/TLS).
• VMware vSphere; template/OVA lifecycle
• Docker; Kubernetes/AKS
• Certifications: Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS); Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE); Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
