Project Engineer

What you'll do:

  • Interact with customers (Owners, Engineers, and Contractors) in support of projects as needed.
  • Feasibility of FRP applications – determine technical feasibility, determine plan check feasibility, and determine constructability of application.
  • Discuss project requirements with Engineer of Record (EOR).
  • Discuss project details with Fyfe Business Development Manager and Certified Applicators.
  • Lead and continue to develop Quality and Customer Service culture within the company.
  • Visit jobsites at various stages of development in coordination with Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Represent company on select industry technical committees and coordinate with Engineering and QC/QA team on support of other committees relevant to the business.
  • Formulate request for information (RFIs) to clarify bid documents, support research and development activities.
  • Support technical writing, limited travel (less than 20%) may be required.

What makes you a good fit:

  • B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, approved Science or related degree, masters preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.), at least 5-10 years of experience with leadership experience a plus.
  • License in multiple states a plus.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with FRP systems, specifically in the civil/structural market space for both seismic and gravity load fiber-reinforced polymer composite applications are a plus.
  • Incumbent must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess and apply comprehensive engineering knowledge on significant assignments.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret very complex documents and respond effectively to highly sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to assist the Sales Team in making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex design topics to management, customers, and public groups.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with highly complex mathematical problems specifically relating to structural engineering, as well as other concepts such as probability and statistical inference along with fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The salary for this role is $73,000.00 - $110,000.00.
