Flexion is looking for a Full Stack Engineer for an enterprise-level application development project to help accelerate trusted AI adoption across government. We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer particularly strong on the backend. In this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and technical knowledge with a strong aptitude for appreciating the focus, scope, and impact of your work in a much wider and forward-looking software landscape. It is important to use test-driven development with full code coverage. This team generally engages in fully transparent, open source development. User-centered design drives our efforts.

You can design small pieces as you go, while still thinking about how they fit into the whole. You welcome change as a positive thing (instead of viewing it as "rework") and never look at anything you deliver as "final." You understand when "good enough" really IS good enough, without ever compromising on the overall product quality. You understand that a focus on team health, communications and problem-solving are what creates a good working team.

You have:

• 5+ years of Development experience
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
• Strong Python and Typescript development skills
• FastAPI experience a plus
• Experience with Astro or similar Typescript server frameworks a plus
• Demonstrated experience working with RDBMS, particularly PostgreSQL, with Redis and SQLAlchemy experience preferred
• Experience building and consuming restful APIs
• HTML, CSS, and web standards; experience with U.S Web Design System (USWDS) a plus
• Experience with Test Driven Development, automated unit testing, and end-to-end testing
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as Amazon AWS - prior experience with Kubernetes and Terraform a plus
• Experience with Github Actions and Jenkins for Continuous Integration
• Superb time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills
