CSU Spur is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Education Team as a CSU Spur Education Virtual Programs Support Facilitator. This individual will be part of a team delivering programs at the CSU Spur campus in Denver that inspire life-long learners to tackle global problems around food, water, and health, and will play a key role in the future of educational offerings at a new state-of-the art campus. The Education Virtual Programs Support Facilitator will support the CSU Spur vision and Education Team by executing the daily programmatic logistics and delivery necessary for successful educational experiences in Spur's Virtual Reality room and online virtual programs for pre-K-12 audiences, families, community partners, and general campus visitors. The individual in this role will support the technical needs for operating virtual reality and online virtual programs and support and mentor other staff, students, and volunteers working in virtual programs. This position is also responsible for delivering educational content in human and animal health as related to virtual offerings both in classroom program facilitation and exhibit interpretation, engaging with on site visitors, and collaborating with staff and volunteers to support the programmatic goals of the CSU Spur campus. This role will have a variable schedule, which may include monthly Second Saturdays at Spur events, other weekends, and could include some evenings. The individual will be in this role for 9 months and is requested to work up to 29.5 hours a week. This position is supervised by the CSU Spur Virtual Engagement Coordinator.
Program Areas of Interpretation: This position will be focused on, but not limited to, Spur's Virtual Reality Experience which centers around human and animal health. This position will be responsible for assisting guests in the virtual reality classroom. In the Vida building, the education team interprets live veterinary procedures, equine-assisted services, and equine rehabilitation therapy in partnership with Humane Colorado, the Temple Grandin Equine Center, and CSU's Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation program, providing opportunities for visitors and school groups to learn about animal and human health through active observation and engagement. This individual will learn new and innovative ways to provide educational programming through virtual reality, in person hands on interactive experiences, exhibit interpretation, indoor and outdoor learning opportunities, and live interpretation of on show surgical procedures, animal therapy, equine assisted services. Flexibility and an openness to learn and try new ideas and experiences is highly encouraged.
