Conduct exploratory testing using scenario-based approaches to uncover bugs and edge cases beyond scripted paths. Collaborate with developers to reproduce and debug issues, with a focus on improving product reliability and customer satisfaction. Write and maintain automated integration tests in JavaScript. Test RESTful APIs, leveraging Postman or similar tools. Query relational databases to validate test outcomes and support investigation of issues. Pull down branches to test locally using Git/GitHub, participating in code reviews when needed. Optionally create and maintain synthetic monitoring tests in Datadog (bonus points if you already have experience). Partner with Product to provide test insights that shape user experience improvements. Clearly document test results, defects, and exploratory testing logs. Skills and requirements: You have experience in one or more of the following domains: payments/financing, accounting systems, or property management platforms. You're comfortable testing complex systems and can navigate both UI and backend testing with ease. You're technically hands-on, with experience in JavaScript automation and working in terminal/git workflows. You own a computer capable of handling local test environments — most of our team uses M1 MacBooks with 24–32GB of memory. You're comfortable with Agile and enjoy working cross-functionally in a collaborative, remote-first environment. You have strong problem-solving instincts and a hunger for learning and growth. Startup experience is a big plus — you're familiar with ambiguity and adapt quickly to change. Experience with Datadog synthetic testing, experience with multi-tenant systems, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, exposure to regulatory or compliance testing in finance or housing sectors.
