About the Role
The Senior Marketing Specialist - Digital and Special Projects plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for leading strategic marketing programs for the HS India business. This includes driving digital, social, e-commerce marketing, and B2C initiatives. This role helps the marketing function keep our brand future-proof and fulfill our customers' needs through innovative digital interventions across all marketing programs. This position spans both segments—Education and Clinical Solutions—underscoring its strategic importance. This person also manages local market segmentation, targeting, and positioning to support segment marketing strategies and turn them into actionable digital programs. This role is also expected to implement best practices in campaign analytics and return on marketing investments.
Responsibilities
- Support Segment Marketing Strategy - Support all digital programs for Education, nursing, and clinical solutions. Launch new products, support onboarding, drive lead generation (lead-gen), lead nurturing (lead nurture), and customer retention. Market messaging, target & positioning, followed by digital promotion across Indian hospitals & institutions, with individual customers focused on usage & penetration in the Indian market.
- Build and Drive Digital Strategy - Develops and executes, in collaboration with the segment marketing teams, solution-based marketing programs to drive revenue through a customer-centric value proposition, emphasizing a unique solutions-based value proposition through correct online platforms and partnerships.
- Drive E-commerce Growth and Expansion - As part of e-commerce responsibilities, the candidate is required to shape up Elsevier education e-commerce marketing activities across Amazon, Flipkart, and other e-commerce portals in India. Work with Global e-commerce teams to drive e-commerce promotional and analytics-based campaigns for the Indian consumer. Plan and run exclusive marketing programs for books & other product suites to drive awareness and sell-through. Amazon Marketing Services & Flipkart Product Listings Ads.
- Social Media Management: Capture and grow healthcare communities (students, physicians, lecturers) through engaging social media campaigns. Amplify the brand voice, build communities, and drive engagement across channels.
- Digital and Paid Media Marketing – Ensure best-in-class digital media presence of regional products and campaigns through the website and campaign pages.
- Market Assessment – Support Segment marketing teams to define market size, both addressable and potential market for our solutions, comprising products, in collaboration with the strategy team, create action plans to address these needs.
- Market Research - The Marketing Manager-Strategic Initiatives is responsible for managing local market research programs. This includes evaluating customer and competitive research, the product roadmap, market conditions, and results, and using these results to define the marketing strategy. By providing valuable insights, this role equips you with the information needed to make strategic decisions and stay ahead in the market.
- Customer Engagement - The Marketing Manager-Strategic Initiatives is instrumental in supporting the customer engagement team to create digital interventions like webinars, podcasts, virtual lectures, etc, to drive usage and increase retention. This role also plays a key part in building a layer of customers who seek customer feedback, increasing customer satisfaction, and driving high renewal rates and upsell/cross-sell opportunities. By directly impacting customer engagement, this role connects you to our mission of serving our customers effectively and enhancing their experience.
- B2C Marketing – Great understanding of direct-to-customer programs and building and nurturing a user community. Work with global product and marketing teams to facilitate market research and B2C initiatives for the Indian market.
Requirements
- Experience in managing high-value marketing campaigns with sales and product teams
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to deliver independently and collaborate globally with key stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with data-driven insights
- Experience creating and executing value-based marketing programs across products, customers, channels, brands, competition tracking, and on-ground initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for explaining complex or sensitive topics
