We're hiring for a Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our mission-critical Enterprise team in Sydney.
This team builds and scales the core platform capabilities that power Relevance AI's largest and most demanding customers. You'll work on the systems that make our platform secure, reliable, compliant, and extensible at enterprise scale - from identity and access management to auditability and compliance.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving deep technical problems, designing robust back-end systems, and owning complex projects end-to-end in close collaboration with product and customer-facing teams.

Design, build, and operate enterprise-grade back-end systems relating to SSO, RBAC/permissions, audit logs, compliance tooling, and data visibility.
Drive key initiatives around reliability, scalability, performance, and security to support enterprise adoption.
Translate customer and business requirements into robust technical designs in collaboration with product and go-to-market teams.
Own projects end-to-end - from system design through to deployment and long-term maintenance.
Contribute to platform architecture and technical strategy as the enterprise surface area of the product expands.
Set and uphold high standards for code quality, maintainability, observability, and security.
Mentor engineers, share best practices, and help raise the overall bar for back-end excellence.
We leverage a modern, scalable, and developer-friendly technology stack to build robust web applications:
Frontend: Vue.js, Nuxt, Typescript
Backend: Express.js, Node.js, Typescript
Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL
Cloud Infrastructure: Vercel, AWS (Lambda, Batch, CloudWatch), Terraform
4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally back-end focussed and in fast-growing or enterprise-focused environments.
Experience delivering enterprise features such as SSO, permissions systems, audit logs, or compliance frameworks.
Strong skills in modern web technologies, ideally TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
Experience designing and operating APIs (REST or GraphQL) and distributed systems.
Passion for designing and building scalable and fault-tolerant systems for real-world users in enterprise environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, and commercial teams - translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Ownership mindset — proactive in driving projects, solving problems, and improving systems.
Passion for AI and eagerness to build innovative, category-defining products.
Regularly use AI tools and technologies to improve workflow and productivity.
Understanding of large scale per-customer deployments (including on-premise and cloud).
Knowledge of FGA/ RBAC access controls, AWS infrastructure, SSO/ OAuth systems, and platform analytics.
