- The role involves a full design cycle, including conceptualization, design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of primary and secondary structures.
- Responsibilities include innovative conceptualization of structural load paths and design for complex structures.
- The candidate will review static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, and structural systems requirements.
- Analysis and sizing of flight structures will be required to ensure timely design reviews and drawing releases.
- The role includes developing and supporting hardware test campaigns, including test integration and result evaluation.
- Support for manufacturing process development is also a key responsibility of this position.
- The candidate will use NX/TeamCenter for designing flight components for the upcoming Terran R vehicle and perform analysis using Nastran and ANSYS.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a design engineering role, demonstrating a solid foundation in mechanical or structural design.
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required, showcasing a commitment to education and expertise in the field.
- Proficiency with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or Solidworks is essential for success in this role.
- Candidates should possess a working knowledge of structural analysis methods, including hand calculations and Finite Element Methods.
- A fundamental understanding of structural strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms is necessary to ensure the integrity of designs.
- Experience with both additive and traditional manufacturing processes will be beneficial in this position.
