- This role is an entry-level technical position within the Flight Sciences team of the Integrated Performance department.
- The responsibilities include building models of the Terran R vehicle and ground systems for detailed analysis using various simulation tools.
- Engineers will collaborate with structures and avionics designers to develop a scalable and robust architecture for component installation.
- The job involves performing multibody dynamics analysis to simulate vehicle behavior during stage separation.
- Candidates will develop software tools to efficiently process analyses in a Monte Carlo simulation.
- The role includes analyzing flight data to correlate with analytical and empirical predictions and generating forcing functions for various dynamics.
- Support for vibration, shock, or thermal testing of components is also part of the job responsibilities.
⚡ Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in engineering or a related field is required for this position.
- Practical engineering experience, such as involvement in project teams, internships, or research labs, is essential.
- The ideal candidate should have experience in solving challenging technical problems while working in teams.
- Familiarity with Python or another scripting language like Matlab is important for this role.
- A graduate degree (MS/PhD) in engineering or a related field is a nice-to-have but not required.
- Familiarity with launch vehicles and liquid rocket propulsion would be beneficial for success in this position.
