About Us: At Peel Region, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional long-term care with empathy, respect, and professionalism. Our team is dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for both our residents and staff. The Long-Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Model of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes.

We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Facility Operations Supervisor to join our team, overseeing housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance operations in our Long Term Care Homes and Adult Day Services. Your role will ensure that the facilities remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for both residents and staff. If you have a passion for making a positive impact in a healthcare setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

What You'll Do:

  • Support and Lead: Work alongside the Facility Services Supervisor to lead a dedicated team, ensuring smooth and efficient facilities operations.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Manage and maintain programs to keep equipment in top shape, preventing costly repairs and ensuring residents' needs are met without disruption.
  • Collaborative Work: Oversee maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and work closely with staff and external vendors to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
  • Facility Audits & Education: Conduct regular audits to maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and provide essential staff training in areas like infection control, safety protocols, and life safety.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Help manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service and the best possible outcomes for the facility.
  • Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, helping them grow in their roles while ensuring a safe and positive work environment.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure that maintenance services comply with all required legislation and contribute to risk management to keep the home a safe, healthy space for residents and staff alike.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Heart for Healthcare: Ideally, you'll have experience in a Long-Term Care or Geriatric Facility, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of such environments.
  • Technical Know-How: Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance protocols, plus familiarity with applicable regulations (e.g., Ontario Building Code, Fire Codes, WHMIS, and more).
  • Team-Oriented: A collaborative spirit and a knack for leading and coaching teams. Experience managing unionized staff is a plus.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot, think on your feet, and ensure that everything runs smoothly, even in challenging situations.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Make a Difference: You'll be helping to create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, while also supporting your team's growth and success.
  • Supportive Team: Work alongside passionate individuals who care deeply about providing excellent service to our residents.
  • Growth Opportunities: We believe in continuing education, so you'll have the chance to grow in your role with ongoing training and development.
