Senior Strategic Account Manager

The Red Hat Public Sector team is looking for a Senior Strategic Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, and EU agencies. In this role, you will own and expand Red Hat's business within EU institutions by positioning open source solutions to support their digital strategy.

You will drive adoption of Red Hat's solutions across assigned accounts, promote consulting services to accelerate time-to-value, and cross-sell the full Red Hat portfolio. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic account management skills, consultative engagement, and enterprise software expertise, along with a strong understanding of EU procurement frameworks.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute account strategies for EU institutions, aligned with their digital and modernization priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior officials, procurement leaders, and IT decision-makers.
  • Navigate complex EU procurement frameworks, contracts, and funding mechanisms.
  • Achieve sales targets, maintain accurate pipeline forecasting, and ensure disciplined account planning.
  • Collaborate with account solution architects to identify and influence key projects, programs, and offices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for senior IT and business executives, building long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and position proofs of concept and pilot implementations of Red Hat's core solutions.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering, Professional Services, and Support teams to ensure excellent customer experiences.
  • Partner with Red Hat's ecosystem of technology and services partners to maximize customer value and outcomes.

What You Will Bring:

  • 5+ years experience selling enterprise software
  • Public sector sales experience, ideally within EU institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of EU procurement processes, frameworks, and contracting models.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with long lead times.
  • Track record of consultative customer engagement, solution selling, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with experience engaging C-level executives.
  • Fluency in English and French is mandatory; Dutch and any other EU language are a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work across multiple offerings and services.
  • Strategic and tactical mindset with the ability to execute both long-term growth plans and short-term opportunities.
