✨ About The Role
- The Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for solving large-scale batch and streaming data challenges within Reddit's Data Infrastructure team
- The role involves refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies to support real-time analysis of hundreds of millions of users
- The engineer will own the data pipeline that processes over 100 billion daily events and ensures high data quality across Reddit
- Collaboration with partner teams like machine learning and Ads to create scalable, fault-tolerant, self-serve systems is a key aspect of the role
- Mentoring other engineers on designing, building, and evangelizing services used by hundreds of engineers across Reddit is also part of the job
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with at least 7 years of coding experience in a production setting, capable of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product teams
- Proficient in object-oriented programming languages such as Scala, Python, Go, or Java
- Holds a degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
- Skilled in working with various technologies like Terraform, Helm, Flink, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
