Sustainability Manager/Specialist

The Sustainability Manager/Specialist in the local Operations Department leads a local cross-functional sustainability working group focused on interpreting and implementing the Global Sustainability Roadmap. Additionally, she or he is supporting the implementation of the upcoming Deposit Return Scheme and will act as an expert for ongoing compliance and potential modifications once the system is live. The person in this position interacts with the global Sustainability, Compliance and Operations department and other global and local business functions and is also responsible for Monitoring ESG regulations, industry benchmarks, trends and impacts and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, industry and Customer Requirements.

Planning & Implementing "Net Zero Roadmap"

• Responsible for creating, updating, and delivering mid- and long-term local sustainability plans and initiatives, supporting the global roadmap to achieve net zero in 2040).

The DRS Management & Ongoing Optimization

  • Oversee the management of the deposit return system (DRS) within Red Bull Poland, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration with the DRS Operator to ensure effective communication and operations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the preparation and exchange of regular reports and data with the DRS Operator.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with the global sustainability team and other internal teams to develop and implement a sustainability program for Red Bull Sp. z o. o.

• Lead a local cross-functional working group to implement sustainability programs, policies, and procedures.

• Cooperate with the Red Bull communications team to ensure both internal and external communication regarding sustainability initiatives is aligned properly.

• Manage relationships with key external partners (e.g., PFPZ; DRS Operator) to support Red Bull's strategic goals.

• Work with Red Bull's regulatory team to review current and future local legal requirements related to sustainability and inform both local and global stakeholders about key changes.

• Respond to internal and external inquiries about Red Bull's sustainability practices, focusing on customer requests.

• Act as an internal ambassador for Red Bull's sustainability/ESG approach.

Monitoring Legislative Changes

• Monitor existing, upcoming and changing ESG regulations and ensure compliance.

• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to raise awareness of the business impacts and minimize risks.

Project Management

• Responsible for implementing sustainability projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Proactively manage projects and engage internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainability goals.

Reporting

• Ensure timely and high-quality reporting of results.

• Provide timely and accurate reporting of environmental data in accordance with legal guidelines.

• Collect sustainability indicators data and report as required to internal and external stakeholders, including global counterparts, senior management, clients, and regulatory authorities.

• Serve as an expert in compliance with emerging reporting requirements.

• Represent and communicate the sustainability strategy to senior management to increase integration and accountability as a key business success factor.

• Ensure carbon footprint reporting aligns with internal and external requirements (e.g., Climate Partner).

• Report on system data and government collection targets, collaborating with other members of the industry association (PFPZ).

Targets Management

• Work on annual and long-term goals in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Regularly report planned and executed sustainability initiatives and their results.

Qualifications

Experience in an Operations or Sustainability role, preferable in the Food/Beverage Sector.

Solid knowledge and passion for ESG/Sustainability.

Proven track record in leading projects and managing/influencing cross-functional teams.

Ability to use program management skills innovatively and remain flexible as the role evolves.

Capacity to identify interdependencies across functions and facilitate collaboration.

Experience in establishing partnerships with suppliers and industry organizations.

Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to create internal and external networks.

Experience in developing, recommending, and implementing improvements to address challenges.

Experience working with facilities, events, and supply chain sustainability practices.

Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to sustainability requirements.
