Maintenance Technician Level 1

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician Level 1 is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with foundational mechanical skills who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment.
• Assist with minor repairs on mechanical systems, including belts, bearings, motors, and pumps.
• Support senior mechanics in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately and on time.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Participate in training and development programs as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance work.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (e.g., hot, cold, noisy).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or mechanical role (internship, vocational training, or similar).
• Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Industrial or manufacturing setting.
• May require standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
