Systems Engineer

As a member of our Messaging Infrastructures Engineering team, the Systems Engineer will lead and support our Messaging products and services globally to help the Aviation industry move messages undisrupted. You will be responsible for the messaging data in transit to ensure the on-time arrival for you, your friends and families, and all passengers flying around the globe. The applications you will be supporting will support over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting over 75 million messages per day across the Aviation community. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player with an ambitious and diverse technical background to support and contribute to this awesome mission.

What You Will Do:

  • Implement infrastructure systems and customer configurations for the Messaging products and services.
  • Collaborate with the Software Engineering and Infrastructure Teams to bring customer requirements to life on large-scale applications and platforms.
  • Support customer engagements and build domain knowledge and expertise to help drive and meet project deliverables and commitments.
  • Work with Management, Technical Program Managers, Value Stream Leaders, and the Business Development Team to provide messaging solutions for aviation customers.
  • Able to support nights and weekends on-call as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Technical domain knowledge in the Aviation community.
  • Technical experience with Integrator.
  • Experience supporting multiple operating systems: Unix/Solaris, RHEL/Linux, and Windows OS.
  • Experience with use cases, process flows, and UML.
  • Excellent verbal skills, documentation, and writing skills.
  • Works well in team collaboration environments.

The salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 144,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
