The Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department is seeking a Systems Engineer II with technical expertise and systems engineering skills to design and support System of Systems (SoS) in an agile, model-based development environment. IAMDS leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location. The IAMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges.

This position is onsite in Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • You will be responsible for concept and requirements development, including decomposition and flow-down.
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining system design and requirements documents including Concept of Operations (CONOPS), System/Subsystem Design Documents (SSDD), System/Software Requirements (SRD/SRS), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Communicate with cross-discipline engineering teams to coordinate system design plans and software/hardware/network requirements.
  • Provide Engineering sustainment support to fielded tactical C5I systems.
  • Manage technical risks by evaluating design options.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with System Engineering processes, tools, and development lifecycle.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple engineering disciplines and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and our programs’ customers.
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Existing DoD Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is $66,000 - $130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Raytheon considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
