Ejection System Engineer

ACES ejection seats have saved the lives of more than 700 aircrew over the last few decades.
The selected candidate will join the ejection seating systems engineering team to support direct program tasking, while gaining exposure to all phases of the engineering development lifecycle of a real world, life-saving product.
This is an onsite role, in Colorado Springs, CO.
What You Will Do
- Learn and utilize systems engineering practices in support of projects assigned
- Support agile-adjacent program execution including participating in monthly sprint/quarterly increment planning, weekly scrums, retrospectives, etc
- Assist in evaluating external and internal customer needs to help define system performance requirements, document architecture, and validate requirements are met
- Support reviewing requirements and evaluate new product design and functionality in support of meeting customer requirements and successful qualification efforts
- Perform requirements traceability at multiple levels of the system specification tree to ensure that any orphan and childless requirements are identified and resolved
- Analyze proposed verification, including the assessment of qualification similarity data
- Support capture of project and product requirements in requirements database/library (JAMA)
- Work with Project/Program Management to ensure all project milestones are achieved within identified and documented time, budget, and performance expectations
- Assist in department development by contributing to systems engineering process development and cross team training
- Support other engineering and project execution activities, as requested
- The position requires strong interpersonal skills, high degree of comfort with ambiguity, good project discipline, excellent oral and written communication skills, high computer/technology proficiency, and the ability to work independently
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
