Operations Supervisor (Evening Shift)

The supervisor is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team of unionized employees on the evening shift (Tuesday to Friday, 2:30pm to 12:30am – on site) at the Quality and Logistic Center in plant 1. Working under an Operations Manager, he is responsible for all tasks related to employee management, coordination of activities, as well as ensuring the follow-up of priorities related to the inspection of purchased parts. He is also the resource person for internal and external customers, and the point of contact for employees and the management team.

The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Tuesday to Friday and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Supervise daily operations on the evening shift at Quality and Logistic Center.
  • Ensure that key indicators are achieved: ESS, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, etc.;
  • Take care of the management of unionized employees according to the collective agreement
  • Prevent health and safety incidents and quality issues by using best practices, methods, and appropriate behaviors (monthly inspections, floor audits, near miss investigations, accident reports, RCCA);
  • Manage employee productivity while meeting operational priorities and objectives.
  • Create an overtime management plan based on operational needs.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of initiatives/projects for the continuous improvement of the organization.
  • Establish work schedules and balance shifts as well as vacation management.
  • Manage organizational changes and ensure employee flexibility.
  • Write the annual evaluations and ensure their communication with the employees.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Knowledge of the aeronautical field and/or manufacturing company;
  • Knowledge of quality criteria and inspection processes;
  • Team spirit, autonomy and ethical sense;
  • Analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Strategic planning and demonstrated leadership;
  • Coaching and training skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Comfortable in a constantly evolving environment;
  • English/French bilingualism orally and in writing;
  • DEC with 3 to 7 years of experience or combinations of studies and demonstrated experience in supervision;
  • SAP knowledge (asset);

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
