The Materials and Process Engineering Department, which functions within Mechanical Engineering, is looking for a Materials Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. This role is to support program hardware design and development and production activities. A qualified candidate will have a background and experience in metallurgy and evaluating materials and processes used within a product design and/or manufacturing. This position will offer a qualified candidate the opportunity to support material selections during design, development, and manufacturing of hardware, and support failure analysis activities associated with a wide range of product applications.
The role will involve evaluation of a variety of materials, with a focus on metals and coatings, and validation and verification that materials and processes used on product meet design and program requirements. Tasks will require critical thinking to solve challenging problems and careful attention to detail on procedures and documentation of results. Collaboration with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers is required. A candidate must be able to manage and coordinate a wide variety of simultaneous tasks within set schedule requirements.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
