Senior Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to become a key part of the Sensors Manufacturing Supplier Quality team supporting the Andover, MA Factory. This on-site position will focus on resolution of supplier nonconformances and ensuring effective root cause and corrective action completion. You will be a key player working with Operations, Quality, Program Management, Supplier Assurance and Engineering to solve problems on our nation's most advanced defense systems.

What You Will Do

  • Leverages strong analytical and communication skills to lead rapid resolution of supplier-driven quality issues impacting factory operations, partnering with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Analyzes supplier nonconformance data to identify top and systemic drivers, developing and executing supporting corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Leads investigations of supplied material issues impacting the factory, ensuring accurate documentation of nonconformances, thorough root-cause analysis, and full implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for communicating supplier quality issues to factory operations support and Supplier Assurance
  • Provides hands-on support as needed for quarantine, containment, and screening of suspect supplied hardware to protect production schedules and product quality.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and/or a minimum of five (5) years related Quality Engineering experience
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes
  • Experience with hardware inspection techniques and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with Lean methodologies or CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), control plans, or supplier verification
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, including identifying trends and developing action plans
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive improvements
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with SAP/PRISM and Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
  • Experience with DoD product and process oversight, including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance or Higher

    The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
