Full-Time Spring Co-Op

The Business Infrastructure (BI) Organization within Raytheon BBN Technologies is seeking a full-time spring co-op to focus on end user support for functional and engineering staff at BBN's Cambridge location. As an intern, you'll work independently and side by side with our full-time team, installing and configuring server hardware and networking equipment or working with end users directly to make sure they have all the hardware and software they need. You will also work directly with our engineering staff, external vendors, and collaborators to solve complex and interesting problems.

What you will do:

  • Perform installations, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other computer maintenance tasks
  • Perform telephone installations and removals
  • Setup audio/visual equipment for conference rooms
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Solve moderately complex problems
  • Regularly maintain hardware and software asset inventory database

Qualifications you must have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with Mac and PC hardware: laptops, and desktops
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 administration, Windows Server, Active Directory, MacOS, and Linux
  • Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP) and LAN/WAN

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Knowledge of networking essentials including common ports & protocols, DHCP, DNS, switching/routing, firewalls, etc.
  • Familiarity with using Atlassian software products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bit, Bucket)

This is an on-site role, eligible candidates must reside or relocate within commuting distance of Cambridge, MA. Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role: Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will work regularly onsite.

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
