Avionics Common Development Environment Team Systems Engineer

The Avionics Common Development Environment team is on a mission to drive digital transformation to avionics. If you are interested in a meaningful career in developing and deploying world class automation, tools and processes to an entire avionics organization, this is the team for you.

This is the PERFECT position for a senior level Systems Engineer with a strong background in DevSecOps, Cert DevOps and creating digital technology transformations. Someone with a strong systems engineering background responsible for helping teams across the organization smoothly adopt the Avionics Common Development Environment. This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What You Will Do:

  • You will create and deploy adoption strategies for helping teams to efficiently adopt our common development environment.
  • You will integrate with adopting teams to provide first class adoption support.
  • You will create and manage adoption roadmaps and plans.
  • You will execute adoption plans and roadmaps.
  • You will set-up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
  • You will work across teams and departments to enable rapid onboarding of the Cert DevOps technology.
  • You will mentor, train and onboard teammates.
  • You will be expected to be a self-starter, able to multitask and manage unplanned events.
  • You will use your organizational skills to keep track of everything.
  • You will use your effective communication skills to keep engineering peers, leadership and customers up to date.
  • You will use your problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills to support the team mission.

Education and Experience You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • US Person is required - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Practical experience in all aspects/phases the software engineering product lifecycle to include all phases of ARP-4754 certification.
  • Practical experience with industry known system engineering principles and techniques.
  • Practical experience with Avionics Systems Development.
  • Experience with DevSecOps.
  • Experience with: GitLab, Git
  • Experience and/or knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Robot, Lava.
  • Experience with Agile development life cycle and best practices.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
