Raytheon offers an exciting opportunity for an onsite Senior RF Test Systems Engineer to join our Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) directorate in McKinney, Texas. TEE is a multi-discipline organization responsible for contributing to the development of test solutions for all Raytheon products. Typical work involves designing interface assemblies, selection and integration with test instruments and environments to develop a test system for every Raytheon product including lab engineering and factory production test systems.
The Senior RF Test Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design development, integration and validation of test hardware and software solutions for multiple production programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with hardware, software, and program engineers to design and develop test software solutions for production testing
- Implementing system software engineering best practices in planning, development, and execution of scope, schedule, and budget
- Implementing best practice standards regarding the planning, coordination, and execution of design activities with sound engineering process discipline and leadership
- Effectively communicating technical information in formal design review settings
- Providing hands-on support to product testing within an engineering test environment
- Sharing knowledge and providing mentoring to other engineers on the team
- Supporting the Section Manager in the execution of the RF Technologies department goals
This position is 100% ONSITE in McKinney, Texas.
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in STEM with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with the following:
- Developing and deploying test software solutions in C#, CVI, C, C++, and/or MATLAB, with experience in using code review tools
- Automating RF test equipment control (e.g. vector network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
- Creating test plans and sequences for RF measurements using NI Test Stand or MATLAB
- Supporting a production test environment with critical troubleshooting skills
- US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Qualifications we prefer:
- Experience with problem-solving using analytical skills
- Experience in leading projects through the software development life cycle, while managing budgets and timelines for their projects
- Experience with various programming languages, operating systems, system monitoring tools, and communication protocols
- Collaboration skills working in cross-functional teams with ability to report status to program management and functional leadership
- Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Sourcetree, etc.)
- Experience with lab instruments, anechoic chambers, and ESS test chambers
- Experience with NSI 2000 (or equivalent) for near field antenna measurements
- Experience with Orbit 959 (or equivalent) for far field antenna measurements
