Senior Quality Engineer

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our aerospace products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. You will serve as a key technical leader in supporting production and engineering teams, driving root cause investigations, and shaping the continuous improvement culture within our organization.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external customers on product quality, regulatory compliance, and quality management system (QMS) requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturing and repair processes meet all quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Serve as a Material Review Board (MRB) member—driving timely disposition, correction, and closure of nonconforming materials.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent recurrence and strengthen product integrity.
  • Plan, execute, and review First Article Inspections (FAIs) to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Lead or support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent quality performance and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing industry (aerospace or similar preferred).
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • ASQ CQE or CQM certification.
  • Proven ability to lead customer and supplier quality initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience leading root cause and corrective action investigations.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
