Raytheon's Airborne Multi-mission Electronics Center is seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to work onsite in Goleta, CA on Electronic Warfare (EW) electronics product development for defense applications. The role includes design, analysis, validation, test, and support of digital, analog, and power conversion circuits for Electronic Warfare & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & subsystems, and as needed leading project teams in these roles. Occasional travel (10-20%) may be required to other Raytheon facilities and supplier or customer sites.
• Advanced FPGA-based circuit designs, including high speed DAC and ADC interfaces, DDR3/4/5 interfaces, various Ethernet copper and optical interfaces
• DC/DC and multiphase to DC, RF power supply circuits, control loop, stability analysis
• FPGA based design, DDR/other memories, digital to RF conversion
• Worst case circuit analysis and derating, design obsolescence, failure investigations
• Scope of work and staffing requirements estimating for potential projects
• Requirements documents and testing requirements
• As needed team lead and REA (responsible engineer authority) / mentor assignments
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience in Engineering/other technical positions. Required experience to include any combination of the following:
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience in FPGA-based circuit design (AMD, Intel, MicroChip, Lattice)
Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronic subsystems.
Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx/ Hyperlynx PI, SiMetrix, LTSPICE.
Experience with design of CCAs with power conversion integrated circuits including high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, and FETs, as well as ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits.
Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.
Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment.
Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
Command of the English language, and good written/verbal communication skills in English.

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
