As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will be the operation's hands-on technical focal point for all component assembly, and performance. You are responsible for authoring prescriptive work instructions, drawing approvals, functional failure investigations, data analytics, test yield improvement, tool maintenance, and overall compliance. This role requires a high level of component and machining knowledge. In addition to supporting the hydromechanical fuel controls and actuators, you will serve as the bridge between the Technicians, Quality, Operation Leads, Project Engineering, Design, and Program Office. Process reliability and repeatability rely on your attention to detail and collaborative skills; critical for maintaining our aerospace products to the highest rigor, standards, and quality.

What You Will Do

  • Component Assembly – Responsible for authoring and developing detailed hydromechanical component process plans for commercial and military products. Incorporating the latest tools, materials, technology, lessons learned, and process improvements. Engineers will spend a large part of their time on the shop floor, working with the technicians, learning how to drive process improvements, increasing part flow, efficiency, quality, and reducing costs. Working closely with Metrology and the Tooling group to design new equipment may be necessary.
  • Drawing & Design Definition – Review drawings requirements to assure that definition is explicit, accurate, and achievable. Work with Design, Structures, and Systems Engineering to address any revisions required to assure that all requirements are met and verified or where requirements cannot be met, identify issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Field and Acceptance Test Yield – Utilize in-depth component, manufacturing, and machining knowledge to troubleshoot, and resolve acceptance performance test failures. Collaborate with Project Engineering, Design Engineering, Mechanical Systems, and Test Engineering to analyze.
  • Design Definition – Work within the IPT, and NPI Manufacturing Engineering teams to provide accurate manufacturing definition on component drawings. Utilizes strong mechanical working understanding of pumps, fuel controls, actuators, flow meters, electrohydraulic servo valves, flow orifices, and plumbing valves. Support Design, Drafting, Structures, Operations, and Quality to ensure that design layouts and detail drawings meets manufacturing capabilities.
  • Quality Assurance – Monitors quality control procedures to ensure that processes and products meet or exceed customer expectations. Support quality investigations, CORE initiatives, deviations, and engineering change approvals.
  • Collaboration – Closely working within a multifunctional operations team environment, assuring that defined customer requirements and business milestones are met.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Prior engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing including development of work instructions, process documentation, and engineering standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) with the ability to interpret and apply complex drawings.
  • Experience with tool calibration, metrology, and gauging systems to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Background in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in a regulated or high-reliability industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive).
  • Proficiency with Solumina, NX, or similar 3D CAD/CAM and MES systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical control systems and hydraulic systems including troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access), including data analysis and reporting.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
