Hardware Development Support Engineer

This position is responsible for providing hardware development support on-site. This person will serve as the engineering build and material coordinator as well as the engineering liaison. Primary tasks for this position include ordering and kitting of parts, coordinating builds, managing short lead time requests, creating and managing parts tracking spreadsheets, working with purchasing to obtain quotes and lead times, coordinating shipments, working with Customer Owned Property and other general support as requested within the hardware engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, proactive, able to work with engineering to meet multiple deadlines, thrives on working in a fast-paced environment, and is a proven multi-tasker with a strong attention to detail.
What You Will Do
- Ordering and tracking parts
- Tracking/managing short lead time simulations, creating routes and reports for yield and defects configuration and serialization
- Releasing drawings/documents, tracking and ordering COPS, GFE
- Shipping as required, and other general support as requested
- Interfaces with technicians, engineers and engineering managers to create/edit documentation.
- Assists in tracking action items, risk management tools, and tasks in the change management tools
- Networks with both internal and external personnel at multiple levels in own area of expertise
- Represents organization as a prime contact on projects, often coordinating activities of support personnel and communicating effectively
- Obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature
- Generally, works on moderately difficult assignments which are given in terms of objectives to be accomplished and priorities to be followed. Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
- Helps run CCB (change control board) meetings
- Acts as a FOD (foreign objects and debris) focal for the factory
- Acts as the EH&S (employee health & safety) focal for the factory
- Classifies parts for engineering to be aligned with our Global Trade compliance requirements
- Assists with Tool Control demands
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Previous project coordination experience
