Principal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to work onsite at Cedar Rapids, IA.
What You Will Do
- Support operations in equipment software/hardware interface development and troubleshoot
- Participate in system integration and project milestone completion
- Create custom automated equipment to improve operator safety and product quality
- Integrate operations equipment into an Industry 4.0 environment. This will include determining critical equipment information then specifying strategy to collect and analyze the data
- Keep abreast of advancements in microelectronics manufacturing processes to drive continuous innovation
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience performing system engineering for large complex systems to include requirements analysis and decomposition, interface definition, root cause analysis, application design, integration, and test
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, identifying, and diagnosing systems administration, infrastructure, and architecture
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience developing prototypes and performing experiments
- Experience troubleshooting software problems on manufacturing equipment
- PLC programming experience
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, or Ethernet/IP)
- Programming skills in languages such as Python, C#, or Java for developing and integrating software solutions
- Strong System Engineering and proven leadership experience
- Experience working proposals, developing and maintaining metrics, facilitating and providing training, and shaping a culture
