Principal Systems Engineer

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support secure system integration efforts across multiple classified environments. The ideal candidate will have experience managing accounts, providing integration support, and maintaining system security in compliance with government and organizational protocols. This work supports the Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) program, located at Beale AFB, CA.

What You Will Do

  • On-site Integration Support to include installation, configuration and test of DevSecOps commercial software packages
  • On-site Integration Support to include installation, configuration and test of OEM Mission Unique Software (MUS)
  • Cloud account creation, account management, and document support
  • Infrastructure support in creating and managing user accounts, file shares, VMs and instances
  • Complete software transfers using file shares and Git Repo
  • Support SAT/FAT Testing and corresponding documentation in support of pre and post testing
  • PKI Certificate Support by creating CSR, requesting certificates for SNet and JWICS, and installation
  • Configuration Management support including writing and approving change requests
  • Monthly software patching in Windows, Linux and other 3rd Party commercial software
  • Cyber Support with ACAS, HBSS, Trellix

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Proven experience in classified environments with account management and secure system integration with a strong understanding of secure software transfer processes and SCIF operations.
  • Proficiency in system patching, account management, and cyber support tools with familiarity with SAT/FAT testing and certificate management processes.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Active certification to comply with NIST-8570 (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Active and transferrable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program clearance and access.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, Gitlab, and associated platforms.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Crosslink and a basic understanding of TCP/IP and transfer protocols
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation
  • Knowledge of Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently and communicate effectively within a fast-paced, high-security environment while working on a team under pressure to meet schedule requirements
