The C2BMC Next Program, based in Huntsville AL, is seeking a Software Engineer to be responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution. Design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.

The candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language for the Battle Management/Regional Applications team in Huntsville.

As a Software Engineer, under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintains currency, debugs and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.
  • Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Interfaces with other systems support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the operating system.
  • Designs, codes, tests and implements tools for operations automation.
  • Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases.
  • Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.
  • Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the operating system
  • Design and build Graphical User Interfaces Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking the successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, can work independently and the flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience applying extensive expertise in solving complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Experience in scalable and maintainable proofs of concept with production implementations in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience with Software Integration and formal testing
  • Knowledge and experience implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
  • Ability to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders
  • Proven ability/experience to mentor and teach junior engineers
  • Requires 8140 IAT Level II certification
  • Experience leading a software team using Agile software development practices.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress.
  • Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
  • Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.
  • Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
