Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated person to join the Configuration and Data Management (CMDM) Department located in Largo, Florida. This role is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. The CMDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers.
This position requires the candidate to work in a dynamic environment in which evolving program priorities dictate individual task priority. This position is part of a larger CM team and requires regular collaboration with team members. The ideal candidate works independently while supporting team goals and communicating task status. During peak periods, the candidate may be required to work on a modified schedule to support team goals.
What You Will Do
- Ensure overall adherence to the Configuration and Data Management (CMDM) process and represent the department within and outside the organization.
- Lead the coordination and administration of assigned configuration and data management activities related to identification, control, schedule, track, review, capture, and deliver program data.
- Maintain the configuration status accounting database.
- Generate and update CMDM plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups and provide tailored CM solutions to support existing or new business requirements.
- Review and assess customer requests during the Bid & Proposal process and ensure compliance with CMDM requirements and support with CMDM estimates.
- Assess the overall CMDM staffing needs and communicate to the Engineering Manager.
- Develop and publish status reports and metrics.
- Perform internal assessments and support internal/external audits.
- Coordination of data transfers among various environments.
- Ensure Global Trade compliance through the correct assessment and marking of documentation.
Qualifications You Must Have
- A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Access, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio).
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and articulate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbal and written.
- Sense of urgency; ability to meet challenging deadlines and experience meeting short-turn and high-pressure deadlines and attention to detail, ability to multi-task and operate self-guided with minimal supervision.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
