Principal Electrical Production Support Engineer

This position is an ONSITE role in Louisville, KY.

What You Will Do

The Principal Electrical Production Support Engineer is responsible for Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and other electrical subsystem hardware. We are seeking candidates with the skills and passion to engineer complex systems, subsystems, circuit card assemblies, and components.

The Principal Engineer will lead teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the engineering organization to contribute to innovation excellence. This role will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees.

The Principal Engineer will participate on a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes. This position will require you to collaborate and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and process issues at CCA and component levels.
  • Resolve issues on production lines and in testing (including suppliers).
  • Conduct failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation.
  • Perform analog and digital circuit analysis.
  • Characterize and model electrical signals of electronic subsystems in simulation.
  • Identify and instantiate circuit card and subassembly design updates.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead other engineers.
  • Some travel to suppliers may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • Minimum eight (8) years applicable work experience in an Electrical Engineering Production environment.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science or related STEM degree.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, or mixed signal analysis/design.
  • Radio Frequency (RF) and Electromagnetic coursework and/or laboratory.
  • Knowledge of high-level programming languages, such as: BASIC, C/C++.
  • Interest in or experience with RF/microwave devices.
  • Experience with electrical software, such as: Mentor Graphics, DxDesigner, PSPICE, Advanced Design System (ADS).
  • Experience with common test equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Logic Analyzers, Network Analyzers, etc.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
