The Pratt & Whitney Engine Systems (PWES) Engineering Partnership Office (EPO) represents the Collins Power & Controls business performing manufacturing floor support, test and component integration activities with Collins hardware on P&W Engines at the Middletown Connecticut Engine Center. We have a unique opening to represent a critical technical link between two RTX businesses as a Production Support & Mechanical Engineer within the Pratt & Whitney Middletown facility across all Commercial and Military Engine programs. In this customer facing position, the selected candidate shall directly interact with the Engine Center Assembly and Test floor personnel addressing daily technical concerns across all Collins Engine Control Systems (ECS) product lines. This individual shall be responsible for managing Engineering 502 recommendations, also known as Engineering Technical Analysis recommendations, within customer Quality Notifications (QNs), as well as supporting rapid resolution to issues identified. The Production Support Engineers are the first responders to evaluate failure or product non-quality events, define scope, and drive toward a robust resolution using data driven decision making and CORE process improvement techniques.

Daily support of the Engine Center shop floor at PW Engine Assembly & Test sites. Provide substantiated technical evaluations and disposition for defective components, drawing from both Collins and Pratt & Whitney blueprint requirements and production and field limits. Provide Engineering Disposition within QN's created in the PW system. Provide on-site support at the engine center for failure investigations and Product Recall investigations for Collins components. Use RTX CORE Techniques to drive comprehensive investigations into product non-quality events and support Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) as needed. Research Supplier Specs and processes to approve or substantiate rework or repair of hardware. Support rework or repair operations onsite as necessary. Coordinate retrieval, and review, of the engine test data in support of faults received. Tactfully represent the Collins Engineering Partnership Office and provide routine status updates to Winsor Locks, CT Program Office and Chief Engineers Office as applicable.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Working knowledge of SAP Preferred Demonstrated drive to deliver and meet customer’s expectations for responsiveness. Experience in aerospace working with Collins Aerospace or Pratt & Whitney. Demonstrated experience leveraging Project and/or Program management skills. Demonstrated experience leveraging strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, strong written / verbal communication skills, expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience navigating competing priorities, delivering the highest level of engagement and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations. Demonstrated experience using organizational skills to keep track of multiple customers and their needs.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Must be a commutable distance to Windsor Locks, CT to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.
