Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Support production teams with troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify process improvements and cost savings.
  • Contribute to equipment selection, process validation, and layout optimization.
  • Create and update process documentation and work instructions.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Learn:

  • Application of manufacturing engineering principles in a real-world production environment.
  • Hands-on learning in equipment troubleshooting, process validation, and operations support.
  • Exposure to lean and Six Sigma tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, and root cause analysis.
  • Professional development in communication, teamwork, and leadership within a corporate setting.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Coursework or project experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process optimization.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or process simulation tools.
  • Exposure to data analysis software/tools (e.g., Minitab, SQL, Python, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
