Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op position will work with the integrated product team in our Melbourne, FL facility. This position is for a student who is majoring in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Electrical Engineering who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June-December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What you will do:

  • Designs and plans process layout for assembly and materials handling.
  • Participates and may help plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Assist in development of manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product quality.
  • Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
  • Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities.

What you will learn:

  • Will gain knowledge and adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Will assist in providing guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
