Job Description
The Galley Product Support Manager manages a small team of professionals that support airline and repair station operations around the world for the Galley Structures portfolio. This position also provides critical feedback to the business for new product introduction and ensure the organization is positioned to provide world-class support for our Airline customers. This role will also involve around 15% travel both domestic and internationally when circumstances arise.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for identifying in-service issues, driving root cause investigations, and developing innovative and practical corrective actions in a timely manner.
- You will drive improvement to Customer Scorecards, Key Performance Metrics, and Implement and Execute Standard Work.
- Develop and maintain positive customer and supplier relationships through effective communication and by fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect.
- Manage a team of product support professionals and ensure balanced workload and maintain employee engagement and well-being.
- Communicate team needs, with leadership across the organization.
- Improve Business Processes and make recommendations to streamline processes.
- Coordinate with program and engineering counterparts to ensure aftermarket requirements are considered in the development of design changes to customer satisfaction
- Oversite for the Service Bulletin process to implement design changes, inspect for field issues, or to address quality escapes in the field as this role will be responsible for the implementation and effectiveness and cost conscious retrofit plans; planned part of replacement in the field.
- Be responsible for the management of our product support requirements, including tracking operational interruptions, component reliability, removals, repair development, spare asset availability, spare part sales, and warranty financials.
Qualifications And Experience We Would Prefer
- Understanding of the design of aerospace structures and systems
- Experience defining, tracking, and documenting multi-disciplinary project tasks (schedule, resources, budget / cost)
- Experience in building and delivering technical presentations, to internal and external customers. You will be able to understand how to craft messaging to specific audiences (executives, OEM partners, and airlines)
- Experience of coaching and mentoring a team and keeping others engaged
- Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures
- If a management role, previous experience of doing regular 1-2-1 development conversations and managing team performance
- Strong understanding of the commercial implications of engineering changes, field issues, and investigations
- Previous Customer Support experience
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, with extensive experience/ or of prior relevant experience
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
- General knowledge of contracts and specification documents
- General understanding of Aftermarket technical support manuals
Highly Desirable
- Technical knowledge of Galley products
- Continuous Improvement experience with (CORE, ACE, Lean, or Six Sigma tools)
- Supplier management experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- Significant number or years of relevant experience in aerospace or another similar environment
Hours of work: 39 Hours per week
Core hours
- 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday
- 7.30 am to 12.30pm – Friday
This role is a hybrid role.
