Engineering Services Support Technician

This position is for an Engineering Services Support Technician. Performs complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Collaborate with higher level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results. Assist in orienting, training, and assigning work of technical/business support employees.

This is an onsite position in Sterling, VA.

What You Will Do

1. Works under minimal supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks
2. Performs moderate to complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects
3. Reviews illustration of workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, or machine utilization
4. Operates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions
5. Conducts moderate to complex materials test and analysis
6. Collaborates with higher level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results
7. Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks
8. Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support engineering disciplines
9. Analyzes, maintains, compiles and formats data and design changes
10. Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation
11. Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• Experience with component level Troubleshooting
• Experience with fine pitch soldering, Circuit Card Assembly Rework, Complex
• Electro/Mechanical Assembly, Acceptance Testing

Qualifications We Prefer

• Active or Existing Security Clearance Preferred
• Previous Military Experience
• J-STD Solder Certifications preferred
• Experience working in a lab or production environment
• Organization and basic project management skills
