Pratt & Whitney, an RTX Company is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our Real-Time Test Systems Software (RTSS) team. This individual will work closely with a team of software engineers in the delivery of developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within the RTSS Portfolio, as well as integrations with other Pratt & Whitney products. These software solutions will maintain functionality and enhance features for control and data acquisition software systems.
Responsibilities may include working on tasks related to commercial engines, military engines or both depending on business need. May be required to obtain a security clearance.
Software Development & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize a complex multi-faceted software system while following coding standards and best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and developers to understand system needs, troubleshoot issues, enhance user experience, socialize designs, and integrate changes as appropriate with rapid iterations.
Defect Testing & Troubleshooting: Develop test cases and leverage static/dynamic analysis tools for verifying real-time performance, ensuring reliability, identifying potential issues, diagnosing issues, and resolving defects.
Code Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that is version-controlled using Git.
Documentation & Compliance: Create project/technical documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.
Enrolled in a degree program in Software Engineering or a related science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field.
Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Experience in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python.
Experience with software development principles, including version control (Git) and debugging techniques.
Experience with software-hardware integration, embedded systems, or working with APIs/drivers for physical devices.
